About the Developer

Born in the mountains, Justus "Jud" Ammons has been building and developing for more than 40 years.

Jud Ammons has developed golf courses, retirement and residential communities and commercial properties from the North Carolina coast to the mountains. Mountain Traditions is Jud’s newest community just minutes from downtown Mars Hill where he was born and where his family still has deep roots.

Jud’s way of developing is not to leave anything to chance. That is why Mountain Traditions is a debt free community — assuring owners that everything will be finished.

His vision for Mountain Traditions is to create an environmentally friendly community where privacy, convenience and comfortable living are experienced. His focus is to preserve the natural beauty and encourage a slower pace of life — where you can enjoy family, friends and making memories.

Jud has received numerous building, conservation and beautification awards over the years. But his family is the most important thing to him (though some might argue that his prize-winning beagles run a close second!). His greatest source of pride is that all four of his children have achieved success in their own right and, in the process, invest themselves in a tradition of service to others.
